Résumé
Gamma-vinyl GABA (vigabatrin, VGB) is a relatively recent drug prescribed to adolescents and adults with epileptic seizures refractory to conventional treatment. No type of oral disorder is mentioned among its adverse effects. However, a 29-year-old male treated during 5 years with VGB for partial epileptic seizures refractory to classic anticonvulsive treatment presented a moderate overgrowth of the free and attached gingiva. The present case is the first described in Spain, and the second in the world literature. We provide a clinical, histopathological and morphometric description of the gingival lesion. These data should be of value to the clinician for counseling patients on risks and for minimizing symptoms.
