Resumen

Resumen: Este trabajo analiza los elementos sociales en las comunicaciones virtuales en educación superior y la percepción del alumnado al respecto. Se realiza un análisis mixto a través de cuestionarios y del contenido de las comunicaciones del alumnado en chats, foros y correos electrónicos bajo el marco teórico y metodológico de la Community of Inquiry. El estudio aporta el contraste entre los elementos sociales comunicados y la percepción que tiene el alumnado. Los resultados implican que la cohesión del grupo es la categoría más comunicada. En un porcentaje muy inferior se encuentran la comunicación abierta y las muestras de afectividad. El alumnado percibe prácticamente de la misma forma las comunicaciones afectivas y cohesivas del grupo; la abierta es percibida en menor medida.
