Abstract

Nowadays, there are many effects that are developed in our society due to physical inactivity and the development of unhealthy habits, such as obesity. In this research, which was performed in “C.E.I.P San Isidro Labrador of La Malahá (Granada), were identified as objectives to determinate the levels of obesity in schoolchildren and to establish possible relationships with others variables like obesity, gender or eating habits. The research was attended by 95 schoolchildren aged 7 to 12 years old. The results showed that there was a 21.1% of obesity (overweight and obesity) in schoolchildren and the lack of significant relationships between the variables. As a main conclusion, it was not determined relation between obesity index and eating habits in the sample studied.
