Zusammenfassung
The interactional analysis has contributed to returning politeness to its rightful place in communicative practice. A short course regarding the theories of linguistic politeness will allow us to suitably define this concept, too often reduced to a simple range of ritual formulas, before considering the place that it occupies within the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.
