Resumen

El esquí alpino es un deporte que por sus características puede ser usado como actividad para promover la mejora y prevención de la de salud física y mental. Esta revisión sistemática pretende analizar las relaciones entre la práctica de este deporte y los factores psicosociales autoconcepto y  motivación. La búsqueda se realizó en las bases de datos Web of Science y Scopus, aanalizando estudios que abordaran por separado el autoconcepto físico y la motivación, ambos en la práctica del esquí alpino. El periodo de búsqueda fue desde el año 2000 al 2022, usando las palabras clave “Self-concept”, y “Ski”, y paralelamente “Motivation” y “Ski”. Como operador booleano se empleó “and”. Se seleccionaron sólo estudios en inglés pertenecientes a las áreas “Social Sciences”, “Psychology” y “Sport Sciences”. Finalmente fueron seleccionados 13 artículos. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el esquí alpino tiene un impacto positivo sobre los niveles de autoconcepto físico en población mayor y lesionados medulares. Muestra también que la motivación hacia la práctica del esquí, de marcado carácter intrínseco, podría ayudar a aumentar la adherencia hacia la práctica deportiva y con ello a lograr mejores niveles de salud. Sin embargo, se necesitan más estudios para evidenciar y dar consistencia a estas conclusiones.
