Resumo

Introduction: Hypertension is a disorder in which the blood vessels have persistently high tension, which can damage them. Blood pressure is the force exerted by blood against the walls of the vessels (arteries) as it is pumped by the heart. The higher it is, the more effort the heart has to exert. When the arteries become stiff and narrow, the blood supply becomes insufficient and causes the appearance of cerebral or cardiovascular infarcts. In addition, this elevation can also cause an artery to rupture and lead to bleeding. Objective: Produce an article based on scientific evidence with the purpose of publicizing arterial hypertension, to improve the knowledge of the population in general and especially of patients diagnosed with this disease. Methodology: The information collected to carry out the work has been obtained from different databases, from books in the library of the University of Zaragoza, as well as from books found online and from web pages related to the health world. The nursing language of the NANDA-NIC-NOC taxonomy has been used. In addition, the NNNConsult website provided by the University of Zaragoza has been used to assess and choose the NANDA, NIC and NOC diagnoses Results: The prevention of the complications of arterial hypertension should be carried out through educational intervention programs, aimed at disseminating information about the disease and the prevention of modifiable risk factors, through nutritional education, physical activity, elimination of the consumption of toxic substances and stress management. Disease prevention and health promotion are two high priority issues in public health policies and actions. Conclusion: Preventing hypertension is the most important and least expensive universal measure to prevent its appearance. Improving the prevention and control of blood pressure is a major challenge for all health institutions, the population, and governments.
