Resum
Obstructive disease is one of the most frequent pathologies in surgical practice. the etiology includes adherent syndromes if there is a surgical history, up to congenital flanges, hernial defects, neoplastic lesions and less frequently intestinal volvulus. Intestinal volvulus is produced by torsion of a mobile segment of the colon around its mesenteric axis and its most frequent locations are the sigma, cecum and the transverse colon, relating to various factors its etiopathogenesis. The following describes a case of cecum volvulus to expose the clinic, complementary tests and characteristic images, as well as therapeutic controversies due to its low incidence.
