Variability in the compliance with 24-hour movement guidelines between week and weekend days in adolescents of the city of Huesca

Resumen

Introducción: En España no existen estudios que hayan analizado de manera conjunta el cumplimiento de las tres recomendaciones de movimiento [i.e., actividad física (AF), tiempo de pantalla y duración de sueño], estableciendo diferencias en función del tipo de jornada. Objetivo: El objetivo del estudio fue identificar el grado de cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de movimiento tanto entre semana como el fin de semana. Métodos: Ochenta y cinco adolescentes (45.9% chicos; M = 12.97 ± 0.52), con edades comprendidas entre 12 y 14 años, llevaron un acelerómetro GT3X para cuantificar los niveles de AF y cumplimentaron un cuestionario sobre el tiempo de pantalla y la duración del sueño tanto entre semana como el fin de semana. Resultados y discusión: Entre los resultados encontrados destaca el bajo cumplimiento conjunto de las recomendaciones de movimiento, especialmente las relativas al tiempo de pantalla y a la práctica de AF. En relación al tipo de jornada, los adolescentes reportaron un menor cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de movimiento durante el fin de semana. Conclusiones: Por ello, resulta conveniente el desarrollo de intervenciones escolares multicomponente, basadas en la promoción de las diferentes recomendaciones de movimiento, que presten un especial énfasis en el fin de semana.
