Abstract
Our study is aimed at assessing the knowledge of the decimal numbers of a group of 198 preservice Primary Education teachers. For this purpose, a mixed design has been carried out, allowing us to identify the limitations of the participants and to detect the errors they present when tackling tasks focused on the reading and symbolic representation of the decimal number. The results reveal that most of the preservice teachers have a weak understanding of the set of decimal numbers, highlighting a deficient knowledge of place value.
