Doctor by the Universidad de Granada with the thesis Estudio sobre la expresión oral en lengua inglesa de estudiantes de magisterio no especialistas en lenguas extranjeras una propuesta didáctica para el espacio Europeo de Educación Superior 2009. Supervised by Dr. Fernando Trujillo Sáez.
Dr. Beatriz Cortina-Pérez is Associate Professor at the University of Granada (Department of Languages and Literature Education) and a specialist in early foreign language learning and multilingual education. Her research focuses on language acquisition in the early years, teacher training, and classroom practices that foster communicative and multilingual competences in preschool. She is co-Principal Investigator of the Spanish R&D project LEyLA, and has led the external review of the British Council’s bilingual programme for early childhood in Spain. Dr. Cortina-Pérez is founder of the ELLMEnet research network and former co-convenor of AILA’s Multilingual Childhoods ReN. She collaborates regularly with regional education authorities in Spain and is co-editor of the International Handbook of CLIL in Pre-primary Education (Springer, 2023).
