Doctor by the Universidad de Granada with the thesis Business ecosystem embeddedness: a knowledge management capacities-based approach 2022. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Javier Lloréns Montes, Dr. Vanesa Barrales Molina.

Marta Riquelme Medina is a DOCTOR in Management (Cum Laude) with International mention who currently works as a lecturer at the Department of Business Organization I (University of Granada). Her RESEARCH focuses on business ecosystems. Specifically, she has studied the role of knowledge management capacities in business ecosystem contexts, the success of the collaboration with competition (i.e., coopetition); the enhancement of supply chain competences and agility, and the achievement of innovations in business ecosystems contexts. The results of her research have been PUBLISHED in journals such as Production Planning & Control, the Journal of Business Research, Industry and Innovation, and the Entrepreneurship Research Journal. In addition, Marta regularly attends and presents her research papers at top international conferences, including: the Academy of Management (AOM) Conference, the European Academy of Management (EURAM) Conference, the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) Conference, where she received the Harry Boer Best Student Paper Award (2021), the Spanish Academy of Management (ACEDE) Conference, where her research received Best Paper Award in the Business Strategy Section (2022), or the World Open Innovation Conference, where she was the runner-up of Kaja Rangus Best Emerging Scholar Paper Award (2022). Marta’s contribution to knowledge extends the national boundaries since she counts on two INTERNATIONAL research stays: i) Lancaster University, which is ranked among the best universities in the world in the fields of Management/Business Administration (Shanghai Ranking 2021, ARWU: 51-75/76-100 respectively) and ii) University of Copenhagen, which ranked the 30th worldwide and 1st in the destination country (Shanghai Ranking, ARWU 2021). With the aim of DISSEMINATING the results of her research to society, Marta has collaborated in several dissemination activities. First, she participated in the Three-Minute Thesis competition with the talk entitled Collaborating with your competitor. She presented her PhD project in three minutes to an audience with no background in her research area, reaching the final at the University of Granada. Second, she is a member of the Council of the Department of Business Organization I and the Scientific Unit of Excellence Advanced Research in Economics and Business of the University of Granada. Finally, she belongs to the main organising team of TEDxGranada, an independently organised and non-profit event under a license granted by TED talks. She has led the communication and marketing team as a volunteer since 2018 with the aim of bringing ideas to the world that are worth spreading. Marta has received various AWARDS throughout his career. On a professional scope, she is the winner of the IV Talentage Edition organized by the Cruzcampo Foundation (2017). In teaching field, she received the ACEDEDOT OMTech Teaching Innovation Award (2022) at the XIII Workshop in Operations Management and Technology (ACEDOT) with the workshop entitled "A practical application of role-playing based on motivation theories". In the academic field, she received the Extraordinary End-of-Career Award in Business Management and Administration from the University of Granada (2016); the International Student Mobility Excellence Award, after her Erasmus + in 2014-2015 (2017); the UGR-Caja Rural de Granada Awards for Excellence in University Academic Performance with the highest weighted grade of the University of Granada (2016); and the Andalusian Award of Academic Trajectories for the Best Trajectory in Management and Business Administration (Regional scope, 2017).
